Welcome to
Camille Reed Sloan Art
Every stroke of the brush tells a story - my story and the story of these landscapes. I invite you to join me on this artistic journey, as we celebrate the beauty of Mississippi together.
In my artistic work, I’m constantly inspired by the natural beauty of the rural Mississippi landscapes and the unique light and colors of the Gulf Coast region. Having grown up in Tupelo, I have always been captivated by the shades of greens, blues of the sky and bright punctuation of colorful blooms against the horizon.
At Vanderbilt University, I minored in art history, familiarizing myself with the rich images of the impressionists. Over the course of my adulthood, I’ve taught myself the technical aspects of painting and honed my skills across mediums including pencil drawing and watercolor. I enjoyed using acrylics as I began working on portraits of my grandchildren. As I try new approaches, acrylics allow me the flexibility to experiment with color and texture.
Through my work, I hope to encourage others to appreciate the natural world around them and to notice the beauty in the everyday.
I believe that art has the power to call our attention to the awe-inspiring within the ordinary.
Thank you for being a part of my world of art. Your support means everything to me.
